May 06, 2024

A motorcyclist from Bromley has been told to pay £1,391 after he ran a red light and was driving without a helmet on.

George Patrick Payne was found guilty of failing to comply with traffic signals, failing to wear protective headgear and failing to display L plates on his motorcycle while he was only a provisional licence holder.

The 21-year-old pleaded not guilty to the three offences but the offences were proved in his absense after he failed to attend court on Thursday, August 17.

The offences took place on October 25 last year on Downham Way while he was driving a Gilera Runner

Payne, of Launcelot Road, was fined £200, told to pay a £176 surcharge and costs of £775 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

His driving record was also endorsed with six points.
