You can put a loved one’s name on an OHL Owen Sound Attack jersey and help a local cause today.

Friday night (Aug25th) is the deadline to help support the Owen Sound Attack’s Hockey Fights Cancer personalized jersey initiative.

Allison Taylor-Misener from the local Bluewater office of the Canadian Cancer society says Hockey Fights Cancer Night is returning to the Bayshore in Owen Sound this year.

She says the Attack and the Canadian Cancer Society have created an opportunity for fans to put a loved one’s name on a jersey as a way of commemorating or supporting them.

“It’s $50 per name, and it can be an honorary name of someone that’s going through a cancer journey or maybe someone that we’ve lost to the cancer journey and then it gets put on the jersey,” says Taylor-Misener.

The names will make up the backdrop of the jersey, covering the whole thing. Attack players will wear those jerseys during the game.

Taylor-Misener says the money raised from placing a name on a jersey will go to the Hockey Fights Cancer game which supports the Cancer Society’s Wheels for Hope program. It helps transport local people who are fighting cancer, to their appointments.

Those who would like to add a name to a jersey can do so by visiting the Attack Box Office by the end of the day Friday, August 25th. You can also add a name online by going to the Attack Shack before the end of Friday.

The Hockey fights Cancer game is set for Saturday, October 28th at 4 p.m. at the Bayshore Community Centre.
