Rarely anyone knows how to get fashion right more than celebrities. No matter what their actual profession is, the simple fact that they’re always in the spotlight makes them focus on what they wear from top to bottom. Athletes are no different, and rep brands from time to time. For sports like baseball, a team jersey must be worn, and the option for a fashion statement is limited. But Shohei Ohtani has been doing it with his latest New Balance deal and doing it well.

Off the field too, the Los Angeles Angels star has repped the Boston-based brand in apparel as well as shoes, wearing NB proudly. A relatively lesser-known name than its counterparts, Ohtani’s name has taken it to global heights and new names are joining it every day. Another huge personality that has long repped New Balance is tennis’ young talent, Coco Gauff. And fans now only have one question on their minds.

Fans say yes, please! Gauff has taken the tennis world by storm with her skills and last year, she participated in the WTA Finals as the youngest player in the tournament at 18 years old. Supporting her since she was 14 has been New Balance, aiding her every move.

While Shohei Ohtani is relatively new to the scene, the brand has long supported athletes from every sport in their journeys to stardom. And since both Ohtani and Gauff are fan favorites, could a possible collaboration be in the works? Brand endorsements are a part of an athlete’s life, as they support it through personal representation or advertisements.

What better way to spread even more word than through an exciting joint project? Ohtani and Gauff are no less than sensations in their respective sports, but coming together would catapult each into even more popularity, subsequently affecting the name of New Balance as well. It would be a win-win.

The Japanese phenom has benefitted from the company in more than just shoes, as witnessed by their custom glove deal earlier this year.

Shohei Ohtani’s unique two-way skills mean his body goes through more wear and tear than any other baseball player. And his requires more care, and more gear, which New Balance is always ready to provide. In April 2023, the brand collaborated with Sho-time to build him a glove specific to his needs. And Ohtani was impressed.

“New Balance’s dedication to product innovation, brand authenticity, and letting me be myself is an important part of our relationship, and this glove shows that,” the Angels player said in a statement. “I used a prototype of the glove during the World Baseball Classic tournament and it helped me achieve my dream of bringing the world title home to Japan. The details on the glove are a way for me to live freely in baseball and have fun with the product.”
